As part of the City of Holdfast Bay’s Depot service review four opportunities are available for Fieldworkers in our Open Spaces and Horticulture Unit:
We are seeking persons experienced in horticulture and/or arboriculture operations to parks, reserves and tree maintenance and associated work.
Parks and Reserves
The candidate will be required to carry out a range of duties within the Parks and Reserves team including vehicle and plant operation, garden and general streetscape maintenance on Council property. Also mowing and associated duties using tractors, ride on mowers, hand mowers, edgers and associate small plant.
You must have:
o Driver’s licence - MR;
o Certificate in Horticulture;
o Chainsaw operation accreditation;
o Loader Licence.
Trees
The candidates will be required to carry out a range of duties including vehicle and plant operation, tree pruning, planting, watering and general maintenance on Council property.
You must have:
- Certificate in Horticulture/Arboriculture;
- Drivers Licence - MR;
- Chainsaw operation accreditation;
- Road Traffic Signage accreditation;
- Current qualifications to allow pruning around 240v power lines;
- Experience in operation of woodchipper, hedge trimmer and chainsaw.
Whilst this would be your primary role, there will be a requirement from time-to-time to work in other areas of Public Spaces operations.
These positions are full time and are classified as TE3 roles.
